      On July 25, 2026, at 18:12, Incidents The Avtozavodsky District Court of Nizhny Novgorod examined a case of fraud during the inspection and maintenance of gas equipment. As reported by the press service of the regional court, in 2019-2020, the accused, together with accomplices, devised a scheme to deceive residents. They posed as employees of a specialized gas organization and visited apartments under the pretext of checking the equipment. During the visits, the criminals informed residents of allegedly discovered malfunctions, frightened them with possible accidents, and offered to install or replace equipment, even though there was no need for such work. Money for unnecessary services was obtained from two victims. The amount of damage is not disclosed. The court found the accused guilty of committing two crimes under the article on fraud committed by a group of individuals by prior agreement. For each of the crimes, he was sentenced to 100 hours of compulsory work. At the same time, the accused was released from serving the sentence due to the expiration of the statute of limitations for the committed crimes.
