The Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation analyzed the results of the comprehensive modernization of employment centers in the subjects of the Russian Federation. Nizhny Novgorod region demonstrates some of the best performance indicators of the project. The modernization of the employment service network is being carried out as part of the federal project "Labor Market Management" of the national project "Personnel", implemented on the instructions of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, and includes the renewal of the entire network of employment centers in the participating region. The comprehensive modernization project was implemented from 2021 to 2026. The assessment of preliminary results covered 29 subjects of the first and second phases of comprehensive modernization, which included the Nizhny Novgorod region. The main achievement of the region following the modernization was a reduction in the average time to employment. Now, it takes Nizhny Novgorod residents an average of 23 days to find suitable work. Last year, this figure was 22 days. A year earlier (in 2024) it was 63 days. Thus, the implemented approaches have allowed maintaining efficiency at almost the same level, despite changing external conditions.
"The results of the first quarter of 2026 confirmed the high efficiency of the transformations carried out in the Nizhny Novgorod region, bringing the region's practices to the level of the best federal practices. It is important to understand that these are not just numbers. Behind each reduced day of job search are specific families, their stability, well-being, and confidence in tomorrow," noted the Minister of Demography and Human Capital Development of the Nizhny Novgorod region Igor Pantyukhin.
Progress is also being maintained in working with unemployed citizens. The average duration of registration at employment centers is 58 days. "The comprehensive modernization of the employment service has allowed us not just to reformat the work of the centers, but to fundamentally change the approach to the client. Today, the path from contacting the staffing center to starting work for Nizhny Novgorod residents takes 23 days. This has become possible thanks to the implementation of client-centric services, targeted job matching, and proactive interaction with employers," said acting director of the Nizhny Novgorod Staffing Center "Work of Russia" Elena Vidyaeva.
Let us remind you that in 2025, more than 480 employment centers were modernized in 17 regions of Russia as part of the national project "Personnel". The total number of updated staffing centers in Russia exceeded 1,200. In the Nizhny Novgorod region, 54 centers were modernized.
