      The Nizhny Novgorod City Hall, citing the Phobos Center, reports that by Sunday the city may receive almost a third of the monthly rainfall norm — 24–27 mm. The reason is that two cyclones will merge into one (supercyclone). This happens once every 10 years. By the weekend, they will form a huge vortex over Central Russia with heavy rains. Tornadoes are possible. The authorities are already preparing. Currently, road services are clearing storm drains and drainage channels. On Sunday, crews and equipment will be on standby at usual flooding spots. Slopes where landslides may occur will also be checked. The transport department warned: the rains could be intense — a large amount of precipitation may fall in 30-50 minutes. Water may not drain immediately, and local flooding is possible. Drivers are asked to wait out the heavy rain or refrain from using personal vehicles. Pedestrians should also be more cautious.
