Nizhny Novgorod residents paid for 467 trips on public transport with one-time cards for cash.

As reported at a meeting of the Public Chamber of the Nizhny Novgorod region by the Deputy Minister of Transport and Highways of the region, Denis Ryabinin, this was confirmed by surveys conducted during trips. According to the CRTS, from July 1 to 6, more than 2.7 million passengers used public transport. During this period, one-time cards purchased with cash in retail chains were used only 467 times. Ryabinin also reminded what payment options are available for those who do not use a bank card. A special travel card is available for beneficiaries, which allows a trip to cost 15 rubles instead of 40. Most passengers in this category have already issued transport cards. If there is no beneficiary card, the fare can be paid with a bank card. Those who want to use cash are offered to purchase a special travel card. It is currently sold in "Spar" and "Smart" stores, and by the end of summer it should also appear in "Pyaterochka" and "Magnit" chains. In addition, a return to geolocation fare payment with a new partner is being prepared for young passengers. The Chairman of the Public Chamber of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Roman Strongin, noted that more than 98% of passengers pay for their trips cashless. In his opinion, this raises questions about the necessity of a large number of conductors, and the refusal of drivers to accept cash will make trips safer.
