Dangerous milk discovered in the Nizhny Novgorod region

      July 7, 2026 12:40 Society Specialists from the Nizhny Novgorod Testing Laboratory of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "VNIIZH" identified discrepancies in a milk sample regarding its fatty acid composition. This was reported by the press service of the interregional office of the Rosselkhoznadzor. The studies were conducted from June 23 to July 3, 2026, as part of food monitoring. The identified deviations from the norm may indicate possible product falsification or violations of production technology. Information about the inspection results has been entered into the automated system "VESTA." In addition, the data has been sent to the Rosselkhoznadzor Office for the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the Republics of Mari El and Mordovia for appropriate response measures. Specialists note that an imbalance of fatty acids can affect health. In particular, increased levels of saturated fatty acids are associated with the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Disruption of the balance between polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fatty acids can cause digestive disorders, while an excess of certain acids can provoke inflammatory and allergic reactions.
