A festival "Pitrav Pukhhi" will be held in the Vorotynsky district.
On July 11, the XVI Interregional Festival of Chuvash Culture "Pitrov Pukhhi" will take place in the village of Lysaya Gora in the Vorotynsky urban district of Nizhny Novgorod region. The festival will feature 16 groups and 13 masters of decorative and applied arts from Vorotynets, Arzamas, Knyaginino, Gagino, Sarov, Dzerzhinsk, as well as from the republics of Chuvashia and Mari El. The "Pitrov Pukhhi" festival, organized by the Ministry of Culture of Nizhny Novgorod region, the regional administration of cultural and educational projects, and the administration of the Vorotynsky urban district, is held annually. Initially, the holiday was conceived as a village day. Later, the festival gained district status. The name of the festival translates from Chuvash as "Peter's festivities." Its goal is to preserve the culture of the Chuvash people as one of the indigenous peoples of Nizhny Novgorod region, as well as to strengthen interregional cultural cooperation based on common roots and national traditions. The village of Lysaya Gora has long been a place of residence for Chuvash people in the Vorotynsky district. Its residents carefully preserve and protect national customs and traditions. This year, festival events will start at 11:00. The program includes a concert featuring groups from the republics of Chuvashia, Mari El, and Nizhny Novgorod region, creative workshops, an exhibition-fair of decorative and applied arts, photo zones, and an entertainment program for children. Guests can also look forward to a gala concert and the awarding of festival participants. Artists will perform songs and dances reflecting the features of Chuvash culture.
