      In Arzamas, the XIV All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference "Glazichev Readings" took place last weekend. The main theme was the strategy "Polycentric agglomerations as an alternative to megacities: interaction of cities in territorial development." As a key example, participants examined the experience of the Nizhny Novgorod region, where Arzamas, Sarov, and Diveevo form a single pilgrimage and tourist cluster. It was also noted that Arzamas and a number of municipalities in the region have been included in the "Golden Ring." More than 200 people and over 60 federal and regional experts participated in the conference, including representatives of government bodies, researchers, State Duma deputies, business representatives, and the public. The head of Arzamas, Alexander Shchelokov, noted that the city's participation in the "Arzamas - Diveevo - Sarov" agglomeration is related not only to tourism development but also to creating a comfortable urban environment, modernizing engineering infrastructure, building cultural and educational facilities, and developing the road network and transport system. Six expert sessions, a plenary meeting, and an open lecture dedicated to the historical and cultural heritage of the Nizhny Novgorod region were held as part of the forum. The Urban Projects Laboratory and the collage workshop "Visual Image of Arzamas" operated. Students presented an atlas titled "Cities that Succeeded," which includes the 100 best urban practices. Russian Senator Dmitry Krasnov emphasized that Arzamas has become a point of attraction and the "gateway" to the "Arzamas - Diveevo - Sarov" cluster, and its development experience is of interest to other territories. Federal support for the event was provided by the development institute DOM.RF. Anton Finogenov, the director for urban environment development at DOM.RF, noted that Arzamas demonstrates an example of small city development through its own resources and cooperation with other territories. Following the conference, a collection of articles with key conclusions and practices for replication in regions of Russia is planned for publication. The All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference "Glazichev Readings" has been held since 2013 in memory of Vyacheslav Leonidovich Glazichev (1940–2012) and serves as a platform for exchanging practices in the field of territorial development, urban planning, and spatial organization. Previously, the forum was held in Lipetsk, Cheboksary, Cherepovets, and Sergiev Posad.
