Evgeny Zabuga: HC "Torpedo" will lose from one to three hockey players.

      Nizhny Novgorod's "Torpedo" may part ways with several players even before the start of preseason training. This was stated by the club's general director, Evgeny Zabuga, during the broadcast of the program "Hockey Talk" (18+).

      In the current offseason, the Nizhny Novgorod team has significantly updated its roster. At the same time, some hockey players left the club after their contracts ended, some were traded, and defender Anton Silaev decided to continue his career in North America.

      However, "Torpedo" managed to retain many key players. New agreements with the club were signed by Andrey Belevich and Sergey Goncharuk. Also, Vladislav Firstov remained with the team, who could have moved to "Lokomotiv," but the deal ultimately did not happen.

      Despite this, the current roster of the Nizhny Novgorod team remains quite large. After the closure of the farm club, the management believes that such a long bench is not necessary for the team.

      "As sad as it sounds, we probably won't get away without partings. I think one to three hockey players with one-way contracts will leave the team. I do not rule out that this will happen even before the start of the preseason camp," Zabuga said.

      According to him, the club tries to make such decisions in advance, as trades during the season, especially those involving relocation to another region, become a serious challenge for the players themselves and their families.

      "Right now, we do not see the need to keep a long bench of hockey players with one-way contracts from either an economic or a sporting point of view. At the same time, we have enough qualified players on two-way contracts who can compete for a spot in the main lineup," noted the general director of "Torpedo."
