A Nizhny Novgorod resident was convicted for participating in an extremist organization.

On July 3, 2026, at 09:20, incidents occurred. The Nizhny Novgorod District Court sentenced activist Tatyana Arshinova to two years of imprisonment for participating in the activities of extremist organizations. This was reported by the press service of the regional court. The court established that Arshinova was aware of the ban on two non-profit organizations recognized as extremist and liquidated by court decision. Despite this, she posted materials about the continuation of their activities on her page on "VKontakte." The woman was found guilty under the article on participation in the activities of a banned organization (part 2 of article 282.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). She partially admitted her guilt. The court sentenced her to two years in a general regime colony. In addition, Arshinova was prohibited from administering websites and posting materials on the internet for two years, and was also placed under restriction of freedom for a period of nine months. The sentence has not yet entered into legal force. It is worth noting that Arshinova was detained in July 2025 in her apartment. A criminal case was initiated against her under the article "Organization of the activities of an extremist organization." On the same day, the court placed her in custody. In the fall of 2025, the activist was included in the list of individuals involved in extremist or terrorist activities. Earlier, it was reported that a resident of the Avtozavodsky district would be tried for participating in a religious extremist organization. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has channels on Telegram and MAX.
