The 10 kopecks deducted during the free transfer will be refunded to the residents of Nizhny Novgorod.
July 1, 2026 18:18 SocietyNizhny Novgorod residents reported on social networks about the deduction of 10 kopecks during a free transfer from a transport card. The situation was clarified by the company operating the automated fare payment system, LLC "Citicard." They explained that on July 1, after the terminal equipment was updated, transfers under the "Electronic Wallet" tariff were processed incorrectly. As a result, money was deducted after the transfer. Currently, technical specialists are addressing the issue. The company promised that starting July 3, funds will be returned to passengers' transport card balances as a delayed top-up. Recall that starting July 1, in Nizhny Novgorod, payment for travel on buses, trams, trolleybuses, and electric buses can only be made with a bank or transport card, including through mobile applications and via QR code. The regional Ministry of Transport assures that internet outages will not affect the system's operation, as it functions in offline mode. Funds are deducted later. However, if there are no funds on the card at that time, it will be placed on a stop list. According to Deputy Minister of Transport Denis Ryabinin, during the first month, passengers without a card will not be fined, but those without tickets will be asked to disembark.
