Participants of the "Time of Heroes" program completed an internship in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      On July 1, 2026, at 18:39, Society Participants of the second stream of the federal personnel program "Time of Heroes" underwent an internship in the Nizhny Novgorod region as part of the module "Regional and Municipal Management." Veterans of the Special Military Operation met with the management team of the regional government. The First Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Andrey Gneushev, noted that it is a great honor for the region to host the program participants. He thanked the veterans for their service and emphasized that their experience is in demand today for solving state and management tasks. During the internship, representatives of the regional government introduced participants to best practices in the fields of economy, investment and social policy, demographics, human capital development, as well as modernization of construction and transport complexes. Special attention was paid to support measures for participants and veterans of the Special Military Operation, as well as their family members.

      The internship also includes familiarization with the work of local self-government bodies. One of the practical tasks for participants was to develop proposals for attracting, adapting, and retaining young specialists in the state civil service. According to the Minister of Personnel Policy of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Roman Markov, the existing mechanisms for attracting youth to public service, including internships, practical training, "open days," and career forums, have already proven their effectiveness. At the same time, the region is interested in new initiatives that program participants will propose. Veterans of the Special Military Operation also participated in a round table discussion titled "Modern Public Service: Youth Expectations and State Opportunities" at the Nizhny Novgorod Institute of Management - a branch of the Presidential Academy. In addition, they became acquainted with the educational programs and key projects of the university.

      In addition to the business program, participants visited a number of sports, infrastructure, and industrial facilities in the region. Among them are the "Sovcombank Arena" stadium, the "VOLGA Arena" sports complex, the IT campus "Neimark," the Gorodets Ship Repair and Mechanical Plant, the special economic zone "Kulibin," and other sites. Participants also learned about the work of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation, the Corporate University of the regional government, the House of National Unity, the federal technopark of vocational education "Park Masters Nizhpoligraf," the city's Analytical Center, and other organizations.

      Furthermore, individual internships were organized for each participant in the fields of healthcare, energy, housing and communal services, demographics and human capital development, social and family policy, transport and road infrastructure, as well as electoral law and legislative activities. The "Time of Heroes" program is aimed at supporting, professional development, and social recognition of participants in the special military operation. Its goal is to prepare qualified leaders from among the veterans of the Special Military Operation for subsequent work in state and municipal authorities, as well as in state companies.
