The accused in the fatal traffic accident in the Bogorodsky district has been taken into custody.

      On July 1, 2026, at 08:00, Incidents: The Bogorodsky City Court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention for the driver of a cargo dump truck, who is accused in the case of a fatal traffic accident. This was reported by the unified press service of the regional courts of general jurisdiction.

      Recall that the accident occurred on June 27 during the day on the 431st kilometer of the Ryazhsk - Kasimov - Murom - Nizhny Novgorod highway.

      According to preliminary data, a 27-year-old citizen of Armenia, at the wheel of a Shacman truck, ignored the "Overtaking prohibited" sign, crossed a solid line of marking, and entered the oncoming lane.

      At that moment, a collision occurred with a Kia SLS vehicle. The 52-year-old driver and a passenger in the car died at the scene. The truck driver sustained injuries.

      The man has been charged under part 5 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - violation of traffic rules by a person driving a vehicle, resulting in the accidental death of two individuals. The court ruled to detain the accused until August 26, 2026, inclusive. The ruling has not yet entered into legal force.
