A rabies quarantine has been introduced in a village in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      On June 30, 2026, at 09:00, a quarantine for rabies in animals has been established in the village of Burtsovo, within the Bogorodsky municipal district. The corresponding decree from the governor has been posted on the website for the official publication of legal acts.

      The entire territory of the village of Burtsovo has been recognized as an unfavorable point. The epizootic focus has been defined as the territory of the hunting economy of the Bogorodsky district hunters and fishermen society within a radius of one kilometer from the point with coordinates 56.146862, 43.709013.

      During the quarantine period in the epizootic focus, a number of restrictions are being introduced. Treatment of sick susceptible animals is prohibited, as is access to the area by unauthorized persons, except for specialists from the state veterinary service, involved personnel, and residents.

      It is also prohibited to import and export susceptible animals, except in cases where the animals have been vaccinated against rabies within 179 calendar days prior to export, or are being sent for slaughter to specialized enterprises or equipped points. The movement and regrouping of animals, skinning of their carcasses, as well as hunting for susceptible species is also banned, except in cases of regulating the population of hunting resources.

      Additionally, fairs, exhibitions, and other events related to the gathering and movement of susceptible animals are prohibited in the unfavorable point.
