Starting from September 1, a unified regulation for the acceptance of work related to the maintenance and current repairs of common property in apartment buildings will come into force in Russia. This was reported by Alexander Aksenko, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing and Communal Services, to RIA Novosti. According to the expert, the Ministry of Construction will establish the procedure and timelines for the documentation of such acts. It is expected that this innovation will make the housing and communal services sector more transparent for residents. Alexander Aksenko emphasized that owners must understand who accepts the completed work, within what timeframe, and based on what documents. This will allow residents to monitor the quality of services and clearly see what they are paying the management company for. Changes will also affect the councils of apartment buildings. If owners elect council members, the decision must be documented with a protocol signed by the elected representatives themselves. According to the deputy, this confirms their agreement to work and take responsibility towards their neighbors. Starting in the fall, there will be an opportunity to establish that the council chairman acts not unilaterally, but together with other members.
