The Nizhny Novgorod Ministry of Health was ordered to provide a child with a disability with medication.

      On June 27, 2026, at 14:54, the Arzamas City Court ordered the Nizhny Novgorod Ministry of Health to provide a child with a disability with a vital medication. This was reported by the press service of the regional court.

      The prosecutor of the city filed a lawsuit against the regional agency and the State Budgetary Healthcare Institution of Nizhny Novgorod "Central City Hospital of Arzamas" in the interest of the child.

      The reason for the court appeal was the results of a prosecutor's inspection. According to the conclusion of the medical commission, the child needs a specific medication for life-saving reasons. Without its use, there is a threat to life and health. However, the medical organization did not provide the medication to the child. As a result, the parents were forced to purchase it themselves.

      The court recognized the inaction of the regional Ministry of Health as illegal. The agency was ordered to organize the provision of the necessary medication for the child at the expense of the regional budget.

      In addition, the court awarded compensation for moral damages in the amount of 30,000 rubles, as well as to reimburse the legal representatives for the expenses incurred in purchasing the medication.

      The court's decision has not yet come into legal force.
