Three Nizhny Novgorod residents were convicted for attacking teenagers with a pepper spray canister.

      On June 26, 2026, at 16:43, Incidents: The Nizhny Novgorod District Court sentenced three local residents for attacking teenagers with a gas canister. This was reported by the press service of the regional court.

      As established by the investigation and the court, on the evening of June 30, 2025, near one of the houses on the Fedorovsky embankment, the men got into a conflict with four minors over a trivial reason. As a result, one of the men sprayed pepper spray in the teenagers' faces. Another fired several shots from an object resembling a pistol. The third prevented the teenagers from leaving the store and supported his acquaintances.

      The defendants did not admit their guilt, but the court found the evidence sufficient. They were found guilty of hooliganism (part 2 of article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

      The court sentenced one of the convicted to two years probation with a probation period of two years, and the other two to one and a half years probation with the same probation period.

      The claims of the victims were also partially satisfied: one of the convicted was ordered to pay 60,000 rubles in compensation for moral damage, and the other 15,000 rubles.

      The verdict has not yet entered into legal force.
