Schoolchildren vandalized 54 graves in the cemetery in Doschaty.

      According to the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Nizhny Novgorod region, the schoolchildren did this for fun. The minors have already been taken to the police station. According to law enforcement, the incident occurred on June 22 in the working settlement of Doschatoye. A local resident reported damaged monuments at the local cemetery to the duty unit. Employees of the investigative-operational group arrived at the scene and discovered 54 destroyed memorial plaques and crosses. During the search, police quickly tracked down four schoolchildren — children aged nine and ten. They were taken to the police station, where juvenile inspectors worked with them in the presence of their parents and guardians. It turned out that the schoolchildren were passing through the cemetery and, during the game, began to strike the structures on the graves. They were unaware of the consequences of their actions. Currently, it is known that the graves of 16 people were damaged. The police continue their investigation. Based on its results, a legal assessment will be given to the actions of the children and their parents. The police clarified that two of the minors were sent to a social rehabilitation center.
