At least 20 knife blows: a Nizhny Novgorod man tried to kill his acquaintance.

      On June 18, 2026, at 16:09, Incidents The investigation into the criminal case against a man accused of making death threats and attempted murder has been completed in Nizhny Novgorod. This was reported by the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region. The incident occurred at the end of last year in an apartment in a building on Admiral Vasyunin Street in the Soviet district. According to the investigation, the man had a quarrel with his acquaintance, grabbed a knife, and began to threaten to kill her. He then struck her in the face and body with the cold weapon at least 20 times. The woman was hospitalized in a medical facility, and she was saved. A criminal case has been initiated under part 1 of article 119 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (death threats) and part 3 of article 30, part 1 of article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted murder). The accused has been taken into custody. The case with an approved indictment has been sent to court for consideration on the merits.
