The accident happened around 17:20 on the 495th kilometer of the federal highway M-7 "Volga." The driver of the passenger car, heading from Nizhny Novgorod to Cheboksary, while overtaking the vehicle in front, crossed into the oncoming lane, where he collided with a tractor-trailer. As a result of the collision, both vehicles caught fire. The man behind the wheel of the passenger car sustained injuries incompatible with life. He died before the ambulance arrived. The truck driver was hospitalized in the Lyskovsky Central District Hospital.
