Nizhny Novgorod residents were informed about new areas of study at RANEPA and NGLU.
On June 17, 2026, at 08:57, the Society presented new educational programs from the National Research University of the Presidential Academy (RANEPA) and NGLU in Nizhny Novgorod. The universities are expanding their range of fields, launching programs with two qualifications and new master's degrees, as well as strengthening cooperation with federal and regional partners. This was announced at a press conference on June 16, attended by a correspondent from NIA "Nizhny Novgorod."
According to Rector Nikita Avralev, NGLU is opening admissions for a new profile with two qualifications - "Pedagogical Education: English and Chinese Languages." The training of teachers has its specifics: specialists in the methodology of teaching Chinese are needed. Despite the fact that more than ten native language teachers work at the university, the methodology of teaching from the perspective of Chinese and Russian specialists differs significantly.
The rector also mentioned two programs that provide two qualifications, which are included in the graduate's diploma without issuing an additional document - "Tourism and International Cooperation" and "Linguistic and Translation Support for International Tourism." This will allow applicants who are considering popular fields and are concerned about high competition for budget places to choose an alternative option and "have a backup."
Ekaterina Lebedeva spoke about the new initiatives of the National Research University of the Presidential Academy. According to her, the university is updating educational programs in line with modern labor market requirements and implementing them in collaboration with leading higher education organizations and specialized structures.
Thus, in collaboration with the international IT campus "Neimark," a master's program "Legal Regulation in the Use of Artificial Intelligence" has been created. Together with the Academy of the Federal Tax Service LAB, there is a master's program "State Regulation of the Tax System." In cooperation with the regional government, there is a master's program "Legal Regulation of Guardianship and Custody," which has 20 budget places available.
At the bachelor's level, RANEPA is launching a program with academic mobility "Leaders of Regions" in the field of public and municipal administration. Unified educational standards will connect Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, Pyatigorsk, Lipetsk, Moscow, and St. Petersburg.
Students will study at their campuses and undergo three-week internships in other cities. This will allow them to get acquainted with the best management practices and the work of executive authorities in the regions. Moreover, the cost of education in this program in Nizhny Novgorod will be lower than in Moscow, providing an opportunity to receive education according to the unified standards of the Presidential Academy without the need to relocate.
