The rector of NGLU explained the 15% increase in tuition fees.
On June 16, 2026, at 18:14 Society The cost of tuition on a non-budgetary basis at NGLU named after Dobrolyubov increased by an average of 15% in 2026. This was reported by the university rector Nikita Avralev at a press conference on June 16, as conveyed by a correspondent from NIA "Nizhny Novgorod." According to Avralev, the increase is related to the market situation and the university's obligations. In particular, the university must comply with the May decrees of the president, according to which the salary level of the teaching staff must reach two average salaries in the region. Additionally, the cost of education is influenced by the rise in utility payments and other current expenses. Currently, the cost of education for first-year college students at NGLU is 150,000 rubles. For bachelor's, specialist, and master's programs, the cost ranges from 140,000 to 295,000 rubles depending on the field of study and form of education. Tuition for postgraduate studies costs 220,000 rubles per year. For comparison, tuition at the RANEPA college is 160,000 rubles per year. The cost of higher education programs ranges from 100,000 to 247,000 rubles depending on the field and form of study, with the most expensive program priced at 350,000 rubles per year. At Minin University, tuition for full-time vocational education programs ranges from 108,000 to 188,000 rubles per year. The cost of bachelor's programs ranges from 165,000 to 325,000 rubles, specialist programs cost 325,000 rubles, and master's programs range from 188,000 to 220,000 rubles per year.
