"At One Table": a large-scale gastro festival has started in Nizhny Novgorod

On June 12, 2026, at 13:50 Culture and Leisure, the gastro-festival "At One Table" (0+) is taking place for the first time in Nizhny Novgorod. The main venue for this new event is the "Switzerland" park. The festival was prepared by the "Switzerland" park and the Association of Restaurateurs of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The central event of the celebration is a hundred-meter gastronomic table that unites the cuisines of various peoples of Russia. On the first day of the festival, a correspondent from NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" attended.

As the director of the Association of Restaurateurs of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the festival organizer Alexey Belyaev explained, the idea of holding such an event has been around for a long time. He noted that the restaurant community of the region and the city administration have long wanted to create a common celebration.

"The idea to name it 'At One Table' and make the table a symbol of unity—so that restaurateurs, chefs, Nizhny Novgorod residents, and the administration sit together—immediately resonated," said Alexey Belyaev.

He added that the festival coincided with the weekend for Russia Day. The organizers were also fortunate with the weather during the preparation of the event and on the first day of the celebration. The main venue of the festival will be a 100-meter table, where dishes from various national cuisines will be presented. According to the organizers, about 30 chefs from Nizhny Novgorod, as well as representatives from other regions, participated.

"At 16:00, there will be the main table of Russia here. Not only will 30 of the best chefs from Nizhny Novgorod come, but also guys from Chuvashia, Ingushetia, and other cities to present their dishes as well. We will set up more than a hundred positions of different nationalities and cuisines here," Belyaev reported.

Visitors are offered more than 300 national dishes. Among them are Russian, Volga, northern, Siberian, Tatar, Chuvash cuisines, dishes from the peoples of the Caucasus, Far Eastern seafood, and much more.

The festival program is not limited to gastronomy. The park has set up sports competitions in football, tennis, volleyball, and basketball. In addition, guests can expect a cultural program with evening performances. Among the participants are the group "Moral Code" and the collective "Medzhikul." The director of the "Switzerland" park, Oleg Shuvalov, noted that the area has turned into a large gastronomic venue for the duration of the festival.

"Our park has become a huge gastronomic stage not only for our city but probably for the whole country. This is our first experience on such a scale," he said.

Shuvalov added that they plan to develop the festival in the future.

"We have already agreed with the Association of Restaurateurs and the city head that we will make every effort not only to preserve the festival as a highlight of Nizhny Novgorod but also to expand its locations. If everything goes well, we will try to extend the festival to other parks and public spaces that are actively being reconstructed and developed in Nizhny Novgorod, so that it acquires a truly fundamental character," he said.

Entry to the park and all festival venues is free. Earlier, we reported that festive events (0+) in honor of Russia Day are also taking place at the Nizhny Novgorod Fair and in the 1st of May park.
