In the Nizhny Novgorod region, the preparation of feed has begun.

      At the same time, the sowing campaign continues in the region. Farmers in the Nizhny Novgorod region have begun to form a feed base for the winter-stall period of 2026-2027. In 17 municipalities of the region, the preparation of the main types of feed - silage, haylage, and hay - has started. As reported by Nikolai Denisov, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Resources of the Nizhny Novgorod region, a large-scale task lies ahead for agricultural producers: it is planned to stock 748 thousand tons of silage, 641 thousand tons of haylage, and 137 thousand tons of hay. This volume will fully meet the needs of the livestock sector in the region for feed in the upcoming winter. At the same time, enterprises are already demonstrating initial results: as of now, 22 thousand tons of haylage and 2.5 thousand tons of silage have been harvested. "The farms are fully equipped with the necessary equipment for feed harvesting operations," said Minister Denisov. The following districts have already joined the feed harvesting: Arzamas, Bogorodsky, Dalnekonstantinovsky, Knyagininsky, Lyskovsky, Ardatovsky, Buturlinsky, Gaginsky, Pochinkovsky, Balakhna, Gorodetsky, Koverninsky, Sokolsky, Uren, Chkalovsky, Shakhunsky districts, as well as the Kstovo district of Nizhny Novgorod. At the same time, the spring sowing campaign continues in the region. According to the regional Ministry of Agriculture, the sowing of spring crops has been completed by 83%, and the total area of sown land has reached 463 thousand hectares, of which 303 thousand hectares are allocated for spring grain crops.
