June 6, 2026 21:13 Culture and Leisure NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" - Alexandra Turovskaya The opening of the large international arts festival "Pushkin Without Borders" (0+) took place in the Nizhny Novgorod region. This event is being held for the third time in Bolshoye Boldino, where the ancestral estate of the great Russian poet is located. A correspondent from NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" attended the event. The festival will last three days - from June 5 to June 7. The main program takes place on June 6 - on the birthday of Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin and the associated Day of the Russian Language.
Bolshoye Boldino welcomed guests not only from the Nizhny Novgorod region but also from all over Russia. A warm welcome was organized by the museum-reserve and local residents, who dressed as characters from the poet's most famous works - "The Tales of Belkin," "Eugene Onegin," "The Tale of Tsar Saltan," and others. Theatrical excursions, Russian folk songs, audio guides, master classes, plein airs, and a food court awaited fans of Russian literature at two venues - in Bolshoye Boldino and Lvovka.
The main event was the opening ceremony of the festival on the main stage. The Minister of Culture of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Natalia Sukhanova, delivered a welcoming speech. She noted that one of the key tasks of the organizers was to create a large cultural platform in Bolshoye Boldino that unites the professional creative community, youth, and local residents. According to the minister, the festival is steadily developing and expanding, transforming from a city event into a regional one, and from a federal event into an international one. The main venue of the event gathered hundreds of people who came to see the legendary ensemble "Pesnyary" and the combined choir "Pushkin's Neighbors." The bright day will conclude with a multimedia show "The Blizzard" featuring the Honored Artist of Russia Daniil Spivakovsky and the Russian Folk Orchestra named after V.A. Kuznetsov. On the last day of the festival, June 7, guests of Bolshoye Boldino can again expect excursions, theatrical and musical performances, the "Pushkin Gala" concert, as well as a round table discussion "Pushkin for All Times."
