The concession for the construction of a basketball center in Meshchera has been terminated.

      The concession agreement for the construction of a basketball center on Karl Marx Street in the Kanavinsky District of Nizhny Novgorod has been terminated. This was reported by the NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" from the Ministry of Sports of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. Currently, the implementation of the project has been halted.

      Recall that the agreement was concluded in 2024. The concessionaire was LLC "Place." The sports center was planned to be built on Karl Marx Street next to the "Meshchersky" sports complex and the "Sovcombank Arena" stadium. The project included the creation of four basketball courts, two martial arts halls, a gym, a medical center, a café, and administrative premises. The building's area was to be about 6,000 square meters. The project provided for variable number of floors - from one to five floors. At the same time, the complex could accommodate up to 150 people.

      It was expected that the new center would allow players from the BC "Pari NN" system to gather in one place. The investment volume for the project was estimated at approximately 667 million rubles. The sports complex was planned to be put into operation in 2026.

      The site where the construction was planned is designated for a sports facility and is one of the priorities for building sports infrastructure with the involvement of investors, the Ministry of Sports noted.

      The department added that the issue of finding investors is being worked on.
