Nizhny Novgorod police detained a man who was placed on the federal wanted list.

      On June 6, 2026, at 10:35, Incidents: In the Sormovsky district of Nizhny Novgorod, police detained a 25-year-old man who was on the federal wanted list. This was reported by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the region.

      On the evening of June 4, a report of gunfire near one of the houses on Shcherbakova Street was received at police station No. 8. Eyewitnesses reported that an unknown person was shooting from an object resembling a weapon.

      Officers from the Patrol and Post Service immediately arrived at the scene. While inspecting the area near the house, they noticed a man with an object that externally resembled a weapon and detained him.

      It turned out that he was a 25-year-old native of the Mari El Republic, previously convicted multiple times. He is on the federal wanted list for property crimes. The object was seized and sent for examination. After the necessary materials are processed, the detainee will be handed over to the initiator of the search.
