Nizhny Novgorod region and Kyrgyzstan will cooperate in science and technology.
June 6, 2026 10:00 Society The Nizhny Novgorod region and the Kyrgyz Republic intend to build cooperation in the field of science and technology. The relevant agreements were reached at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (18+) between the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod region Dmitry Starostin and the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Russia Kubanychbek Bokontaev. During the meeting, the parties discussed the creation of a joint working group that will engage in regular consultations on key areas of interaction. This format will allow for a systematic dialogue on issues of scientific and technological development, the implementation of joint initiatives, and the training of specialists for high-tech industries. One of the important areas of cooperation will be the development of ties between the IT campus "Neimark" and educational institutions in Kyrgyzstan. Earlier, at the CIPR-2026 conference, "Neimark" signed a cooperation agreement with the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University. In addition, the participants of the negotiations considered opportunities for expanding trade and economic interaction. The Nizhny Novgorod side presented the potential of regional enterprises interested in joint projects in industry, woodworking, and the agro-industrial complex. The development of international ties has become one of the key areas of work for the Nizhny Novgorod delegation at the SPIEF-2026. Within the framework of the forum, agreements were also reached to expand cooperation with the Republic of Srpska in the fields of science, education, and economics. Furthermore, the prospects for promoting the falconry center project in collaboration with partners from the UAE and Saudi Arabia were discussed, as well as the region's approaches to developing industrial and technological cooperation within the framework of the Russian-Chinese dialogue. The Nizhny Novgorod region is consistently developing international cooperation and building long-term partnerships with foreign regions and organizations. At the SPIEF, we managed to discuss specific projects in the fields of economics, technology, education, and investments. We look forward to further joint work on implementing the agreements reached, noted Dmitry Starostin. Earlier, it was reported that Vladimir Putin noted the successes of the Nizhny Novgorod region in restoring cultural heritage sites. The NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has channels on Telegram and MAX.
