Nizhny Novgorod teenagers were told how to get a job at 14.

      June 3, 2026 19:46 Economy Teenagers in the Nizhny Novgorod region can officially get a job from the age of 14. However, parental consent is required for employment at this age, and work is only permitted during free time from studies. This was reported to "KP-Nizhny Novgorod" by the regional Employment Center. According to the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, the duration of working hours for minors is strictly limited. Thus, teenagers aged 14-15 can work no more than 24 hours a week and no more than four hours a day. For workers aged 15-16, the duration of a shift can reach five hours. At the age of 16 to 18, it is allowed to work up to 35 hours a week, with the working day not exceeding seven hours. For official employment, a package of documents must be prepared. This includes a passport, work book, SNILS, bank account details for salary payments, TIN, military registration documents, education documents, and a medical examination certificate. In addition, teenagers aged 14-15 need to provide written parental consent. It is drawn up in a free form and must contain information about who gives permission, to whom exactly, and for what job. In certain cases provided by law, consent from guardianship authorities may be required. The Employment Center confirmed that temporary jobs are organized annually for minors aged 14 to 18. Teenagers receive official employment with a record in their work book, and employers are allocated special quotas. This summer, Nizhny Novgorod teenagers are offered jobs as a teacher's assistant, weighmaster, PC operator assistant, clerical assistant, packer, apprentice locksmith, laboratory assistant, apprentice car repair locksmith, archive assistant, dispatcher, sales assistant, and merchandise display specialist. Seasonal vacancies are also available. Among them are jobs in landscaping, amusement ride operator, courier, assistant vegetable grower and livestock breeder, as well as workers for landscaping and territory cleaning.
