A village for Europeans is planned to be built in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
On June 4, 2026, at 18:00 Society In the Nizhny Novgorod region, there are plans to create a separate village for resettlers from Western Europe who are coming to Russia on a "traditional values visa." Architect Anton Glikin spoke about the plans at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (18+) during the session "Russia - USA: Dialogue of Cultures." According to him, the village will consist of approximately 450 houses. The project has been supported by the region's governor, Gleb Nikitin, and, as Glikin noted, the regional authorities are actively involved in the work. A Catholic church is also planned to be built in the historical center of Nizhny Novgorod. It will become the central element of the Studeniy Quarter. The area itself is set for comprehensive development. It is worth noting that in 2025, a German village was planned to be built in the village of Armanikha in the Dalnekonstantinovsky district. The project includes residential houses, a nursing home, a health resort, and a spa. Earlier, it was reported that in 2026, 14 foreigners had already moved to the Nizhny Novgorod region.
