      The Kanavinsky District Court of Nizhny Novgorod has issued a verdict in a criminal case against a 71-year-old resident of Yoshkar-Ola. He was found guilty under Part 3 of Article 30, Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted murder). The court established that in October 2025, in the evening, the defendant, while at the public transport stop "Revolution Square" in the Kanavinsky district and in a state of intoxication, took a knife out of his pocket and hid it in the sleeve of his jacket. Without cause and out of hooligan motives, intending to kill, he began to observe citizens at the stop. The defendant then entered a bus after a passenger, took out the knife, and without cause stabbed a citizen in the area of the heart, and then left the vehicle. The passenger did not die, as he received timely medical assistance. The court sentenced the guilty party to 8 years and 1 month of imprisonment in a special regime correctional colony, with a restriction of freedom for 1 year.
