      The chairman of the ZSNO committee on urban development commented on Governor Nikitin's report on the work of the Nizhny Novgorod region government in 2025. "Despite external challenges, I would like to note the positive dynamics in the work of the construction block of the Nizhny Novgorod region. Last year, a total of just over 1 million 750 thousand square meters of housing was put into operation across the region. We are approaching the implementation of the task set by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin—to build 0.8 square meters of housing per capita. The resettlement of dilapidated and emergency housing is progressing at a good pace," said the chairman of the Legislative Assembly Committee on Urban Development, Property and Land Relations, member of the United Russia party faction Vasily Sukhanov, commenting on Governor Gleb Nikitin's report on the work of the Nizhny Novgorod region government in 2025, which was presented at a meeting of the regional parliament. The deputy emphasized that the key indicator for assessing the work done is the implementation of integrated territory development projects. "In 2025, the Nizhny Novgorod region government, through the mechanism of integrated territory development (ITD), provided land resources on which it is planned to build more than 1 million square meters of apartment buildings in the Nizhny Novgorod agglomeration. If we continue to provide land resources at this volume annually until 2030, the goals set by the head of state will be achieved. A million square meters of housing in the Nizhny Novgorod agglomeration—such volumes have never been seen in modern history. ITD projects, within which land plots are allocated for the construction of apartment buildings, are considered a great achievement of the Nizhny Novgorod region government," said the chairman of the relevant committee. "I would like to specifically note that within the framework of concession agreements, the construction of social infrastructure facilities has begun and is already being put into operation, meaning that we have effectively launched a synchronization mechanism. Creating conditions for comfortable living is laid out in the people's program of 'United Russia.' The most challenging part is not just to build housing, but to combine the construction of social infrastructure facilities with the commissioning of residential buildings, so that families with children moving into new buildings can send their kids to schools or kindergartens that are within walking distance.
