Parents of 11th graders will spend an average of 20,000 rubles. This data is provided by the SuperJob service based on survey results. The average contribution for the prom for 9th graders in the city is 13,000 rubles. In other major cities, expenses are more noticeable. In Moscow, parents of 9th graders collect an average of 17,000 rubles, while for 11th graders, it is 25,000 rubles. In St. Petersburg, the graduation for 9th grade costs about 15,000 rubles, and for 11th grade, it is 23,000 rubles. Not all families plan to participate in the celebrations. According to the survey results, 13% of parents of 9th graders reported that there will be no prom. Among parents of 11th graders, such responses were fewer—9%. A significant part of the expenses is related to the purchase of festive clothing. For a son finishing 9th grade, parents spend an average of 18,500 rubles on an outfit and shoes. For a daughter, this amount is about 17,000 rubles. In 11th grade, the distribution changes. Preparing a son for the prom costs about 21,500 rubles, while the outfit for a daughter is around 23,000 rubles. At the same time, some parents manage without special purchases. Among families of 9th graders, 17% do not buy separate festive clothing for their sons and 15% for their daughters. In 11th grade, there are fewer of them: 15% among parents of boys and 10% among parents of girls.
