A traffic accident involving five children in the Lukoyanovsky district has caught the attention of the prosecutor's office.

      May 21, 2026 12:45 Incidents The Nizhny Novgorod prosecutor's office is monitoring the investigation into all circumstances of the traffic accident in the Lukoyanovsky district, as a result of which children were injured. This was reported by the press service of the agency. Recall that the accident occurred on the evening of May 20 on the approach to the village of Kryukovka. According to preliminary information, a 45-year-old man driving a Chery Tiggo was in a state of alcohol intoxication. While driving, the driver did not choose a safe speed. When turning left, he lost control and went off the road, then overturned into a body of water. There were children in the cabin. As a result of the incident, five minors aged 6 to 12 were injured. An eight-year-old girl was found to have a fracture of the left shin, while the other victims sustained bruises and abrasions. All the children were hospitalized. Currently, all the details of the incident are being established. The prosecutor's office has organized an inspection.
