The sale of alcohol will be restricted in Nizhny Novgorod due to recent calls.

      On May 20, 2026, at 16:17 Society In Nizhny Novgorod, restrictions on the sale of alcoholic beverages will be introduced on May 26 and 27. The measures will be in effect during the days of the last bell ceremonies and graduation parties, reported NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" from the city's Department of Entrepreneurship Development.

      The ban will affect retail outlets located near schools and venues where mass festive events are planned. It will be impossible to purchase alcoholic beverages in these places on the specified dates.

      Such restrictions are periodically introduced in the city. The last time was during the May holidays.

      The restrictions are based on regional law No. 74-Z "On the Regulation of Certain Legal Relations in the Production and Circulation of Ethyl Alcohol, Alcoholic and Alcohol-Containing Products in the Territory of Nizhny Novgorod Region."
