Another Nizhny Novgorod resident has returned from Ukrainian captivity.

      May 16, 2026 13:05 Society A serviceman from the Nizhny Novgorod region has returned from Ukrainian captivity. The prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine took place under the "205 for 205" scheme, as reported on social media by the regional Human Rights Commissioner Oksana Kislytsina. The United Arab Emirates acted as intermediaries in this process. Currently, the Russian soldiers are in Belarus, where they are receiving necessary psychological and medical support. They will soon be transported to Russia for continued treatment and rehabilitation. The ombudsman clarified that the Nizhny Novgorod resident signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense a year ago. Recall that at the end of April, as a result of another prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine, a serviceman from the Volodarsky district returned to Russia.
