      In the Nizhny Novgorod region, the results of the regional stage of the XX All-Russian competition for professional skills "Psychologist of Russia - 2026" were summarized. The winner of the competition was recognized as the psychologist of kindergarten No. 27 in Balakhna, Yulia Molostova.

      The competition in the region was conducted by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Nizhny Novgorod Institute of Education Development. The competition addresses the tasks of the national project "Youth and Children" and contributes to the implementation of the initiative to select the best in the profession of the national project "Personnel".

      "We always say that professional skill competitions are an effective tool for the development of the entire education sector. Participation in such events motivates educators to improve their qualifications, refine their professional skills, which directly affects the quality of work with children. It is important that such competitions are becoming more popular year by year. If in 2023, almost 40 specialists from Nizhny Novgorod participated in the 'Psychologist of Russia' competition, this year there are already more than 100. This indicates the interest of representatives of the educational community in continuous professional growth," said the Minister of Education of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Mikhail Puchkov.

      The regional stage of the competition is divided into several rounds. The first round was held in absentia and included two competitive tasks: "Business Card" and "Characteristics of Professional Activity". Based on its results, 15 psychologists were identified from the total number of participants. The second face-to-face round was conducted in the form of "Blitz-interviews," where the jury assessed the professional capabilities of the contestants. Only eight participants advanced to the third, final round.

      The semifinals and finals of the regional stage took place on May 14. Specialists presented their master classes on pre-selected topics, demonstrating practices of psychological and pedagogical support.

      In the final task, contestants were asked to solve a professional case on a psychological and pedagogical problem and present it without using multimedia means.

      "Competing with the best of the best is a great opportunity to show yourself in non-standard situations and try to become better. In professional skill competitions, you grow professionally, and this is the most important reward," shared her opinion one of the participants of the competition, psychologist Yulia Konovalova from the Nizhny Novgorod Provincial College.

      The winner of the regional stage of the competition, Yulia Molostova, will represent the region at the federal stage. It will take place in Moscow this fall.

      "For me, it is a great honor to represent the Nizhny Novgorod region. I feel a huge responsibility and understand how important it is to perform at the highest level, not lowering the high bar set by my colleagues last year. I am confident in the professionalism of each of us and will strive to give 100%," shared Yulia Molostova.

      Let us remind you that the national project "Youth and Children" is being implemented in the country by order of the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin. It includes nine federal projects and programs: "Russia - a Land of Opportunities," "We Are Together," "Russia in the World," "Everything for Children," "Leading Schools," "Teachers and Mentors," "Creating a Network of Modern Campuses," "Universities for the Generation of Leaders," and "Professionalism."

      The main goal of the competition "Best in Profession" of the national project "Personnel" is to raise the prestige of working professions and encourage the achievements of masters in their field.
