Two Nizhny Novgorod teams won in the military-historical game in the Volga Federal District.

      On May 8, 2026, at 18:21 Society On May 7, in anticipation of the 81st anniversary of Victory Day, the traditional game "What? Where? When?" themed around the Great Patriotic War took place in the Volga Federal District, titled "IQ-PFO: Great Victory." In a remote format, 1,932 teams of schoolchildren, students, as well as teams in the "no age limit" category from various regions of Russia participated, totaling over 11,000 participants. Participants were asked 24 questions in "What? Where? When?" (2 rounds of 12 questions) on topics related to the history of the Great Patriotic War (key events and major battles, important dates and biographies of commanders, films and songs about the war). According to the results of the game, the team "Znatoki" (village Vyyezdnoye, city of Ardatov, Nizhny Novgorod region) won in the school category, which only surpassed the second-place team "Tavla 17" (Saransk, Republic of Mordovia) based on an additional criterion. The third place went to the team "Rancho" (Ulyanovsk). In the student category, the best result was achieved by the team "And again the floor lamp!" (Penza), the second place was taken by the team "Young Guard" from the city of Kulebaki, Nizhny Novgorod region, and the third by the team from the Saransk Automobile Mechanical College (Republic of Mordovia). In the "no age limit" category, the first place was taken by the team "SMK" (Saransk, Republic of Mordovia, captain Irina Bachkova), the second place went to the team "Pascal's Lawyers" from Samara, and the third to the team "Izhevskneftemash" (Izhevsk).
