      In connection with the upcoming long holidays, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region calls on citizens to strictly adhere to the norms of administrative and criminal legislation of the Russian Federation, as well as safety rules. To ensure that the festive days pass peacefully, the regional police remind residents and guests of the Nizhny Novgorod Region of the necessity to observe personal and property safety rules:

      – Be vigilant in places with large crowds. Do not leave personal belongings (bags, mobile phones, wallets) unattended. If you discover suspicious items or abandoned bags, do not approach them and do not attempt to open them yourself – immediately report this to a police officer or call 102.

      – Ensure the safety of your property. When leaving home, even for a short time, check that windows and doors are securely closed. If you plan a long trip, do not announce it on social media and ask neighbors to keep an eye on your home. Do not leave valuable items in car interiors in parking lots near parks and recreation areas.

      – Follow road behavior rules. The police remind you that it is unacceptable to operate a vehicle while intoxicated – such actions pose a direct threat to the lives of others and entail severe responsibility.

      – In natural recreation areas, refrain from lighting fires and burning grass. This can lead to tragic consequences.
