The administrator of the recreation center will be tried for the death of a 14-year-old from Nizhny Novgorod.

      On May 6, 2026, at 17:40, Incidents: The administrator of the "Yantarnoe" recreation center in the village of Zubanikha, in the Dalnekonstantinovsky district, will stand trial for the death of a 14-year-old teenager.

      Recall that on the afternoon of July 26, 2025, a group of teenagers rented a catamaran. According to NIA "Nizhny Novgorod," the boys were not wearing life jackets. After some time, the minors swam to the shore and informed adults about their friend's disappearance. Eyewitnesses rushed to search for the boy, and soon the police and medical personnel arrived at the scene.

      That evening, a search and rescue team from the Ministry of Emergency Situations arrived at the eco-park. The teenager's body was found in the pond almost a day later. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case for providing services that do not meet safety requirements.

      The investigation established that the tragedy occurred due to the improper performance of duties by the recreation center administrator, who rented the catamaran to minors for money but did not issue life jackets or conduct a briefing on water safety rules. Additionally, according to the investigation, the administrator did not monitor the teenagers for prompt response in case of an unforeseen situation.

      On May 6, the Investigative Committee for the Nizhny Novgorod region reported that the investigation of the criminal case has been completed.
