Drivers will pay more than 9 million rubles for parking on lawns in Nizhny Novgorod.

      On May 4, 2026, at 18:38 Society reported that since March 1, 2026, more than 2,700 rulings have been issued in Nizhny Novgorod for parking cars in green areas. The total amount of fines exceeded 9 million rubles. This was reported by the administrative and technical inspection.

      According to the director of the institution, Alexey Chizhikov, violations are recorded in two ways. The first is with the help of the hardware and software complex "Dozor." Vehicles equipped with cameras automatically recognize the license plates of cars parked in green areas. After the data is recorded, the ruling is issued automatically without calling the owner.

      Since the beginning of March, about 2,500 rulings have been issued using the complex, totaling more than 8 million rubles. Cars on lawns are most often recorded on Permyakova, Dargomyzhskogo, Narodnaya, and Berezovskaya streets. In 2025, "Dozor" recorded about 40,000 violations.

      The second method is applied to vehicles without license plates. Such cars are towed to a penalty parking lot, and after the owner is identified, they are held administratively responsible.

      The ATI reminded that green areas include not only plots with lawns, shrubs, and trees but also places that have turned into dirt and trampled ground due to regular parking. In such cases, signs of an offense under Article 3.8 of the Administrative Offenses Code are also observed. The maximum fine for individuals is 5,000 rubles, and for legal entities, it is 150,000 rubles.
