Residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region are invited to participate in the seventh International Competition "Mothers and Children in National Costumes." The organizer is the Regional Public Organization "International Union of Women" with informational support from the Federal Nationalities Agency (FADN of Russia). The competition is dedicated to the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, declared in 2026 by the President of the Russian Federation. Its goals are aimed at preserving and developing ethnocultural diversity, strengthening traditional family values, and demonstrating the unity of peoples through art.
The competition includes three main nominations. The first is a photo contest "Mothers and Children in National Costumes," where the connection between generations and the beauty of national heritage is revealed through the art of photography. Families can participate without age restrictions.
The second nomination is a national lullaby song contest. Vocalists performing works in their native language can participate.
The third nomination is a national dance contest dedicated to preserving and popularizing the choreographic heritage of the peoples of the world. Groups and solo performers are invited to participate.
Applications can be submitted and conditions can be reviewed on the website www.ethno-photo.com. The application deadline is September 25, 2026. The results of the competition will be published by October 25, 2026, on the official website, where an online gallery of laureates and winners will also be presented.
