The player of "Torpedo," Atanasov, was tested for doping twice in 2026.

The forward of Nizhny Novgorod's HC "Torpedo," Vasily Atanasov, underwent doping control by the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) twice in the first quarter of 2026. This is evidenced by documents available to TASS.

Atanasov was among the hockey players who were tested more frequently than others during the reporting period. A similar number of tests was also passed by the forward of Moscow's "Spartak," Nikita Korostelev.

The most frequently tested player in the first quarter was the defender of Yaroslavl's "Lokomotiv," Andrey Sergeev — he provided doping samples three times.

In total, 128 hockey players competing in the KHL and other Russian leagues were tested once during the first three months of the year.

According to RUSADA, in 2025, 470 hockey players of various ages, including sled hockey players, underwent testing.

Recall that Nizhny Novgorod's "Torpedo" was eliminated from the Gagarin Cup. Read about how the roster for the new season will be formed on the NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" website.
