Gross violations of traffic rules were identified on the M-12 in the Nizhny Novgorod region during a raid.
On May 1, 2026, at 10:54, Society In the Nizhny Novgorod region, another joint raid took place on the high-speed M-12 "Vostok" highway with the participation of representatives from the State Company "Avtodor," regional units of the traffic police (GIBDD), and the Federal Road Transport Agency (Rosavtodor). The inspections are aimed at monitoring compliance with the rules for installing state registration plates, traffic safety requirements, as well as toll payment on paid roads. Since the beginning of 2026, more than 70 such events have been conducted on "Avtodor" high-speed highways. As a result, 385 administrative offenses were recorded. In particular, about 20 vehicles were found with dirty registration plates and about 30 cases of intentional concealment of numbers. Additionally, 164 instances of unpaid tolls were registered. The remaining violations are related to non-compliance with traffic rules. It is specified that regular raids are conducted on the M-12 "Vostok," A-289, and Central Ring Road (TsKAD) to identify vehicles with concealed numbers, with the participation of GIBDD crews. During the inspection in the Nizhny Novgorod region, serious violations were recorded. Three drivers refused to undergo medical examination, and three vehicles were found to be operating with intentionally concealed registration plates. One case of violating child transportation rules was also identified: a child was in a car without a special restraint device. In addition, six foreign citizens were identified as being in the territory in violation of migration legislation. The State Company noted that the share of tolls on the company's road network with concealed or unreadable registration plates decreased by about 45% from 2024 to 2025. It is worth noting that starting from March 2, 2026, tolls on the highway have increased.
