Mark Sartain will continue to lead School 800 for another five years.
April 28, 2026 18:08 Society NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" - Maria Orlova Mark Sartain will remain the director of School 800 for another five years. The contract with the head was signed at the presentation of the institution's work results and the development program for 2026-2029. The signature from the government was provided by the Minister of Education Mikhail Puchkov, reports NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" correspondent.
Opening the event, the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin, emphasized the importance of public reporting and open dialogue about the future. According to him, the school was originally created with the ambitious task of being among the best and setting benchmarks not only in the region but also in the country. At the same time, its work should be evaluated not only by the results of the Unified State Exam (USE) but also by its personnel policy, atmosphere, and the desire of children to learn.
The governor noted that the new contract is linked to achieving specific key performance indicators: the director faces "a large front of tasks and goals" that need to be implemented in the next three years.
In turn, speaking about the results, Mark Sartain stated that the school has completed its initial period and is moving on to the next stage of development. Since 2022, three buildings have been gradually put into operation, licenses and accreditation have been obtained, and nationwide professional forums have been held. Today, nearly 2,700 children are studying at the school, and starting from the new academic year, their number will exceed 3,000.
In 2025, the first 59 graduates took the USE. Almost every third student scored 80 or more points in at least one subject, and in most disciplines, the average result exceeded the regional average. The director emphasized that this is not the limit but a starting point for further growth.
The presented development program for 2026-2029 establishes four key benchmarks: high educational results for each student, the formation of the school as the best workplace for professionals, the status of a driver of general education development, and the creation of a favorable environment. By 2029, the institution aims to become a recognized leader in education quality.
After signing the contract, Mark Sartain thanked the regional authorities, partners, staff, and parents for their support, noting that the school is developing thanks to joint efforts and open dialogue.
Earlier, in an interview with NIA "Nizhny Novgorod," Mark Sartain talked about how the educational process is structured at the school. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has channels on Telegram and MAX.
