The Ministry of Forestry commented on the death of a 12-year-old girl after a hunting incident in Arzamas.

      On April 27, 2026, at 18:30, an incident occurred in which a 12-year-old girl died from a gunshot wound after a hunting trip in the hunting grounds of the Arzamas Regional Hunting Society. This was reported by the Ministry of Forestry of the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      It is recalled that the gun discharged spontaneously in the car, hitting the child. The victim died at the scene. According to unofficial data, the girl was hunting with her grandfather. A criminal case has been initiated by the Investigative Committee.

      The regional Ministry of Forestry expressed condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased.

      "This tragic incident once again reminds all hunters of the utmost importance of strictly adhering to safety rules when handling firearms. Neglecting these rules can lead to irreparable consequences," the ministry added.
