More than 4,000 Nizhny Novgorod residents found jobs with the support of the "Russia's Work" personnel center in the first quarter of 2026.

      In the first quarter of 2026, the Nizhny Novgorod personnel center "Work of Russia" helped to employ more than 4,000 residents of the region. This is twice as many as in the same period last year. With the assistance of the employment service, Nizhny Novgorod residents found jobs in key sectors such as industry, housing and utilities, agriculture, construction, as well as in social services, education, culture, and sports. Nizhny Novgorod residents took positions as CNC machine operators, electricians, welders, paramedics, engineers, drivers, seamstresses, millers, as well as clerks, procurement specialists, installers, and design engineers. The leaders in employment in the first quarter were the branches of the employment service in Nizhny Novgorod: Kstovo (338 people), Sormovo (237 people), and Nagorny (165 people). Among the district divisions, the highest results were shown by the branches in Pavlovo (285 people), Vyksa (218 people), Gorodets (187), and Uren (185). "Behind every employed Nizhny Novgorod resident is the meticulous work of career consultants. They approach applicants individually: for each person, they develop a personal route that takes into account their skills, wishes, and life circumstances. When contacting the personnel center, specialists form an individual employment assistance plan that considers the psychological characteristics of the client, their professional skills and competencies, personal preferences, and life circumstances when choosing a profession," noted acting director of the Nizhny Novgorod personnel center "Work of Russia" Elena Vidyaeva. The career plan also outlines support measures that citizens can receive for free. The personnel center provides the following types of assistance: job selection, help in writing resumes and preparing for interviews, social adaptation and psychological support, and career guidance. "High employment rates are combined with a low level of official unemployment: today, there are more than 200 registered unemployed in the region. This is because we help not only citizens who are registered but also those who want to change jobs to a more suitable one without registering. Citizens experiencing prolonged difficulties with employment require more attention from specialists. If necessary, we offer applicants programs for professional development or retraining. Currently, applications are being accepted for training in in-demand professions as part of the national project "Personnel." More than 100 programs are available to Nizhny Novgorod residents. Applications are accepted on the "Work of Russia" portal. In the first quarter, Nizhny Novgorod residents submitted more than 1,300 applications," said Igor Pantyukhin, Minister of Demography and Human Capital Development of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The activities of the national project are aimed at qualitatively and promptly preparing personnel to meet the needs of employers through the coordinated work of educational institutions, companies, and the state.
