      April 23, 2026 16:50 Society President of Russia Vladimir Putin stated that in the event of possible restrictions on mobile internet in major cities, the main priority should remain the safety of people. He said this at a meeting with government members on April 23.

      Putin emphasized that citizens should be informed about what has happened as a result of such actions. According to him, there should be close coordination between law enforcement agencies and civil authorities to find optimal solutions.

      "We need to develop a mechanism for the uninterrupted operation of vital services. Today, as we know, even on mobile phones, when there are no funds in the account, users can access emergency calls. In the case of mobile internet, we need to organize work in a similar way," the head of state noted.

      He also emphasized that widespread notification about planned communication restrictions to prevent terrorist acts could impact safety. However, it is important to explain to citizens the reasons for the introduced measures.

      Earlier, it was reported that Vladimir Putin praised Nizhny Novgorod again, calling it one of Russia's key bases.
