      On April 22, as part of the interaction between the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese and the Main Department of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region, a pilgrimage trip was held for the staff of the women's correctional colony No. 2 to the Ascension Pechersky Men's Monastery in Nizhny Novgorod.

      The group was accompanied by the head of the diocesan department for interaction with the criminal executive system, Priest Alexey Kalugin.

      The pilgrims learned about the history and life of the monastery, visited the Church Archaeological Museum of the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese, and viewed the cathedral in honor of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which houses the highly revered icon of the Mother of God "Pecherskaya."

      The tour of the exhibition was accompanied by an engaging story from the guide about the history of the monastery's origin and development, as well as the lives and fates of its superiors at different times. Among the exhibits, museum visitors were presented with ancient archaeological finds, copies of rare archival documents, church utensils, samples of ancient and modern church vestments, as well as handwritten and old printed books.

      At the end of the excursion, the staff of the institution were able to walk around the territory of the monastery.
