About 60 companies from the Nizhny Novgorod region participated in the Supplier Day in the "Retail" sector.
April 23, 2026 11:34 Society About 60 small and medium-sized enterprises from the Nizhny Novgorod region participated in the Supplier Day focused on "Retail". The potential customer was the retail chain "Magnit". The event was organized by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod region in collaboration with the regional center "My Business" in accordance with the goals and objectives of the federal project "Small and Medium Entrepreneurship" of the national project "Effective and Competitive Economy". "The stable operation of any production depends on the demand for its products. Entering retail chains allows for sustainable sales channels and planning further development. 'Magnit' is an important partner for Nizhny Novgorod producers. Today, 114 local suppliers collaborate with the company, and by the end of 2025, over 27,000 product items from local producers were supplied to the stores. Supplier Day helps to expand this interaction. At the specialized meeting, Nizhny Novgorod producers held over 80 negotiations with the company's category managers," said Maxim Cherkasov, Minister of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod region. Within the framework of Supplier Day, B2B negotiations took place, as well as consultations with business support infrastructure specialists. Experts informed entrepreneurs about the current state support measures that help prepare products to meet the requirements of large customers and expand production. An exhibition of products from Nizhny Novgorod companies was also held, where 31 enterprises presented food products, beverages, bakery and confectionery items, meat and dairy products, snacks and healthy food, sauces and seasonings, vegetable oils, frozen semi-finished products, as well as household chemicals, cosmetics, textiles, home goods, and seasonal products. "Our retail chain actively collaborates with the Nizhny Novgorod region and is interested in expanding the pool of regional suppliers. We are open to dialogue with local producers of both food and non-food products. Following Supplier Day, we signed a cooperation agreement with LLC 'Bread Tear', and the proposals from other companies are being further developed," said Anastasia Alexandrova, head of external communications and government relations for the Moscow region of the "Magnit" retail chain. She added that the company is also implementing social initiatives in the region – together with the "Opening Horizons" foundation, a program for the employment of orphans and graduates of orphanages, as well as children from disadvantaged families, is in place. Participants undergo professional trials in stores and can get their first job with subsequent mentoring support. "I want to emphasize the exceptional importance of Supplier Day for agricultural producers. About 40 organizations from the agro-industrial complex participated in the event. This is not just a platform for dialogue, but a tool for entering the shelves of large retail chains. Thanks to such events, Nizhny Novgorod producers gain direct access to buyers, reduce the chain of intermediaries, expand sales channels, and strengthen their market positions," noted Nikolai Denisov, Minister of Agriculture and Food Resources of the Nizhny Novgorod region. In 2026, two Supplier Days have already taken place in the Nizhny Novgorod region – for the retail chain "Detsky Mir" and the Department of Education of the Nizhny Novgorod city administration. A total of 126 Nizhny Novgorod SMEs participated in the events. Five more Supplier Days are planned for the end of the year, involving companies from the construction, transportation services, and nuclear industries.
