Ten flights were delayed due to the closure of Nizhny Novgorod airport on April 18.
On April 18, 2026, at 11:27 AM, Society At Chkalov Airport in Nizhny Novgorod, operations for the arrival and departure of aircraft were temporarily suspended on the morning of April 18. These measures are aimed at increasing the level of flight safety. Currently, the departure of five flights has been delayed at the airport:
- N4-860 of Nordwind Airlines to Kaliningrad, which could not depart the day before at 22:55 due to the closure of Khrabrovo Airport;
- FV-6352 of Rossiya Airlines to Moscow (Sheremetyevo) scheduled to depart at 9:50;
- WZ-1030 of Red Wings Airlines to Yekaterinburg scheduled to depart at 10:50;
- 5N-510 of Smartavia Airlines to St. Petersburg scheduled to depart at 11:05;
- FV-6106 of Rossiya Airlines to St. Petersburg scheduled to depart at 13:15.
In addition, the arrival of five flights from Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Sochi, and two flights from St. Petersburg has been delayed. The airport administration emphasized that despite the restrictions, all services continue to care for passengers. Airport staff and airline representatives are on duty, ready to assist, and a mother and child room is available for families with children. Water coolers are installed in the waiting areas, and charging stations for mobile phones are available in the waiting zones. Free Wi-Fi access is provided throughout the airport terminal. If necessary, passengers can contact the round-the-clock medical station. According to Rosaviation, restrictions on the arrival and departure of aircraft are also in effect at the airports of Vologda, Cherepovets, Orenburg, Bugulma, Nizhnekamsk, Yaroslavl, and Kirov.
